Crawl, Baby, crawl.

Well, folks, Elliott is officially crawling now!  It has been so exciting to watch him transform from an itty-bitty baby who just lies on his back and kicks his little legs, to a curious little boy who is determined to get from point A to point B one way or another.  He started out doing 360’s on his belly, and then he figured out that he could sort of hurl himself forward all in one movement.  It was really cute, but spastic and scary at times.  Then, he started the “kimodo dragon” crawl.  With his arms spread wide he would to pull himself along and drag his legs behind him.  Then it was the “inch worm” crawl…it looked just like it sounds.  It wasn’t long before he finally figured out how to get up on all fours and move them one at a time for a perfect textbook crawl.  It is so sweet to watch him practicing his new skill and getting better and better at it each day…even if it does mean that I can’t take my eyes off of him because he might get into something he shouldn’t.  Life just got more interesting, and we are loving it!

Here is a video I put together of Elliott’s progress.  Enjoy!

  1. Oh my goodness! I can’t believe it happened so quickly! And that’s awesome how you were able to document each phase. Thanks for sharing! Hope you baby-proofed your house! 🙂

  2. Amazing, Tricia! My personal fave was the kimodo dragon phase, although the 360 degree was pretty funny too! What a big big deal in your house! Congrats! These boys grow up so fast! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Yeah Elliott!! Great video and I love the inch worm best. He’s so darn cute!!

  4. Super cute!

  5. Oh, sweet boy…you can tell he wanted to figure that out SO BAD! I’m so proud of him!

Great job catching all that on film guys. You rock!

  6. Lucky. Evangeline never crawled till after she was standing. She started walking a week later. But this was at about 17 months! No worries though. Now she can fly unassisted. Next thing you know Elliott will be aparating or travelling by floo powder. That makes baby proofing really much more difficult.

    The video is great.

  7. It goes so stinkin’ fast. So proud of your sweet boy. What a great video!

  8. There goes our sweet boy.

What a blessing he is to me!
