Something new at the zoo

To avoid being repetitive with my posts about the zoo I will give you a few highlights of some things we did for the first time!

Stacey & Bennett came over on Monday for “bring a friend to the zoo” day.  We braved the Texas heat and made a day of it!  We kept joking that all the babies could see from their strollers were fences.  “This sure is a nice fence zoo!” Bennett & Elliott both behaved really well despite the sweltering temperatures and the lack of scenery at times.

We took a stroll through Parrot Paradise and used some coupons for free seed sticks.  Stacey and I tried so hard to get those birds on our sticks so that we could let the boys get a closer look.  Those silly birds…as soon as we managed to get them on the stick, they would fly away!  Maybe with a little more practice we will succeed!

We ate lunch in the crocodile cafe for the first time, too.  We were so hungry that I forgot to take any pictures.  After a quick trip to the restroom for diaper changes we were off to see more animals!

Bennett rode the carousel for the first time.  It was his first time ever on a carousel.  He loved it!

Is this not one of the cutest pictures you’ve ever seen?

Here are the boys waiting in line to ride the carousel.  As you can see, they were very excited!

Here are a few pictures of Elliott waiting in line.  I could just eat him up he’s so cute!

As you can see, we were all pooped out at the end of the day!

After we left the zoo we headed to Sonic for their 2-4pm happy hour and treated ourselves to some half-priced cold drinks!

Finally, it was time to go home for naps and a bath!  I couldn’t resist throwing this photo in!  Elliott loves to stand on his tippy-toes and watch the bath water run 🙂
