Easy Breezy

Last weekend David and I had the pleasure of keeping Nathan while his mommy & daddy took a day trip to College Station to cheer on their own Texas Aggies.  I have to admit that when Fancy first mentioned the idea, I was a little nervous that Nathan would have a hard time being away from his parents.  But, I was sure that we would just roll with the punches and try our best to help him have a good day.

Boy, did he prove us all wrong!  He arrived shortly after 8:30 a.m. and was nothing but happy and adorable for the rest of the day.  Elliott seemed to covet the attention we were giving Nathan…as if he doesn’t get enough attention of his own!   He even went to the extreme of mimicking Nathan to receive praise.  Silly…and sly little boy!

We managed to get both boys to take two naps during the day.  In fact, Nathan went down without a peep both times and slept for two hours both times!  What a champ!  After their morning nap we fed the kids lunch and took a trip to the zoo.

The boys had a lot of fun playing in the giant sand box.  Check out the sand on Nathan’s face!  He was very interested in how it tasted!

The elephants were a favorite!  We had this viewing window all to ourselves!

Snack time was also a big hit!  Of course, the grass is always greener on the other side…Elliott was way more interested in Nathan’s snacks…even though he had his own!  I just love the look on Nathan’s face in this picture.

After dinner & playtime, we strapped the boys in their strollers and took a walk around the neighborhood.  It was a perfectly breezy evening for a walk!  Check out Nathan’s hair blowing in the wind in this picture!  So cute.

After our walk it was bathtime and bedtime for both boys!  They barely fit in our inflatable tub, but we still managed to get them clean.  I’m not sure Elliott liked sharing his bath…afterall, it is one of his favorite things to do.  But, Nathan loved every minute of it!

Thank you, Nathan, for sharing your infectious smile with us and for giving us an easy breezy day!  Come back and play with us any time!  We love you!
