The Word

While preparing lunch in the kitchen on Saturday, David had an interesting conversation with Elliott.

David: Elliott, who made you?

Elliott: Gah (God)

David: (attempting to teach Elliott something new) Elliott, who died for your sins?

Elliott: Bye-boo (Bible)

To the average person this may seem like a ridiculous answer, but in fact, our son is a lot smarter than we give him credit for.  You see, the Bible is the word of God. According to scripture, Jesus is the Word. And it was in fact, Jesus (the Word) who died for our sins. So, in essence, Elliott was really just referring to Jesus when he said bye-boo. We’re sure of it!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life, and the life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.  John 1:1-5
