Jude’s birthday fell on the Monday after Mothers’ Day this year so we decided to combine his birthday with our traditional Mothers’ Day celebration with David’s mom, grandparents, aunt, and uncle on Sunday. At first I felt a little bad for not having a full-out party with friends for him, but I am so very glad that we chose to celebrate Jude this way. It was simple and sweet and just perfect for our littlest family member!
These homemade birthday banners are all the rage right now and I was so excited to finally find the time to make one. I used scrap fabric for all of it except the pom pom border. I love how in turned out! In fact, I loved it so much that it stayed up for over a week past Jude’s birthday!
Jude with Pop
Curious to know what Jude thought of the cake? See for yourself!
Jude LOVED his cake! I still cannot believe that he devoured the entire piece. It was huge! Needless to say, he was marched straight to the bathroom for a bath afterward!
After getting cleaned up Jude received a special gift from Nonnie. He absolutely loves his Rody horse!
Keeping with tradition, I hung birthday streamers in the hallway the night before his actual birthday. He didn’t waste any time before tasting one of them.
We enjoyed a nice birthday breakfast at IHOP and the birthday boy ate, and ate, and ate!
He danced a little, too. This boy loves music and dancing!
That afternoon we took advantage of the beautiful weather and played in the backyard. Jude is having so much fun climbing on everything in sight and trying out his new walking skills!
What’s a birthday without balloons?
And, for dinner, I made the boys’ favorite meal…pasta! Mmmm, mmmmm.
After dinner Jude opened his gifts!
Happy birthday, sweet boy. We are so very glad God made you!
